+++------- Synopsis
The interfaces serie is the outcome of some experiments about the very meaning of the concept of "interface".
Sometimes we only try to get a visual form from a navigation process, in other cases the final goal is to get
people in touch with each other.
The idea is to let people design the form of their navigation journey, so that discovering the content would
be a visual and emotional experience.
The main form is actually the visualization of the navigation experience, something you usually cannot see while
you navigate.
The original software (made in 1999/2000, using both Macromedia Flash and DHTML) is no longer working due to many browser and plugin updates. Here is a movie showing a work session.
See below for explanation about each piece (piece #5 is no longer available)

6.0.1 march 2001 - Flash
Multiuser workspace, the exploration of the interface as a more realized playground.
The shape is the visualisation of the last five users navigation.
Each user design the form of his own navigation dragging the coloured squares onto the grid. Once the navigation
have been saved the coloured squares change color. The gray scale means the navigation history: from the darkest to the
brightest, from the first to the last visited link.
The whole form, the final grid, it's a collective composition.
Selecting the plus or minus sign on the right side of the users name, visibility of each navigation journey can
be turned on or off.
5.1.0 march 2001 - Flash
Multiuser workspace, the exploration of the interface as a more realized playground.
The shape is the visualisation of the last five users navigation.
Each user leaves a line and mix it up with ones left from others users, in order to create a sign-bedding, sharing a collective
composition that means also a collective experience.
Selecting the plus or minus sign on the right of the users name, visibility of each navigation journey can
be turned on or off.
4.0.0 december 2000 - Flash
Navigate dragging the coloured squares onto the empty moving ones.
The red line drawn is the link with the original position of the square. While the user navigate a yellow line
link up all the visited squares, so it means the navigation history.
The red color is brighter for the first visited links and darker for the last ones.
The shape made by the lines crossing over is a moving visualisation of the navigation journey.
3.1.0 november 2000 - Flash
By clicking on coloured squares they move first below the line, the active link area.
Choosing a new square the previous one goes above the line, in the visited area, and it makes a sound. Each square
has a different height that result from the sequence of clicks.
Clicking on different squares you compose a form, and the sounds create a melody which is the result of the
click sequence as well.
The navigation result is a shape and a sound loop.
2.0.0 october 2000 - Flash
Navigation live-organic form.
Using the yellow handles the form can be moved trough the movie area. His backbone is made by small squares that
are the links.
1.0.0 october 2000 - Flash
Visualisation of a classic browser navigation journey.
The left shape is made by the "content blocks". Full blocks mean a linked content, transparent ones are empty.
Differrent color on rollover means different kind of content. The links.
Clicking on the full blocks they move toward the central "virtual container" and the linked ones also move.
The active links.
Finaly, clicking again, they move to the right side "virtual container". In this way the final shape means the
user navigation history.
In the central virtual container the "dead blocks" mean the visited liks.
